Everybody loves the combination between different flavors and the gummy texture. Not to mention that gummy candy is also affordable.

Can you bring it on a plane?

According to TSA, gummy candy can be brought into an airplane in either your carry-on or checked luggage.

Although gummy candy is not what you might consider a solid eatable, TSA thinks differently and treats gummy candy as a solid food item.

The same rule applies to all types of gummy candy, regardless if they are in the shape of worms, bears, frogs, snakes, alphabet letters, fruits, and others.

TSA has no restrictions based on the shape and color of the gummy candy you want to bring on board.

Be aware that some gummy candies have laxative properties, and bringing them on board the airplane as a snack is not the wisest option. Usually, sugar-free gummy candy is the one to blame for this effect.

How much gummy candy can you bring on a plane?

Since airport security does not restrict gummy candy, you can bring as much as you can fit in your bags.

Bringing so much gummy candy might trigger additional screening by airport security.

With such a large quantity, TSA agents may test the candy looking for possible explosive materials, but they will not stop you from bringing the candy on board the plane.

Should you pack gummy candy in your carry-on or checked luggage?

The smartest choice between the two is to pack your gummy candy in the checked luggage as long as you don’t plan to snack on it.

The reason is that the temperature in the cargo area of a commercial flight is a few degrees lower than the one in the passenger area.

Placing the gummy candy in the checked luggage prevents it from melting.

Be careful how you pack the candy because if you forget a couple of gummy bears in your luggage, they will melt over time, and cleaning the inside of your bag is not hassle-free.

Does gummy candy fight the effects of airplane pressure?

Can you bring CBD gummy bears on a plane?

CBD gummy bears can be brought in carry-ons or checked bags if they contain less than 0.3 percent THC.

In some states, the level of THC can be higher. Every state has different laws, and if you plan to travel with them, you need to do your own research.

You should avoid bringing them on international flights since most countries treat all products containing THC as narcotics, and you might end up in prison.

Who invented gummy bears?

Hans Riegel invented gummy bears in 1920.

The company’s name was Haribo and was a combination of the first two letters of his own first and last name and his hometown: Hans Riegel from Bonn=Haribo.

Although Riegel is credited as the inventor of gummy bears, he actually improved an old formula.

Keep in mind that the 1920s gummy bears were way different than the ones sold nowadays because Arabic gum was used as the main ingredient instead of gelatine, not to mention that they were about 1.5 inches tall. 

The gummy bears’ formula was improved throughout the years, and new flavors were introduced.

Can you bring mints in flight?

You can bring mints in your carry-on or checked luggage in open and unopen packs.

Can you bring liquid candy in flight?

You will not be allowed to bring in your carry-on more than 3.4 Oz of liquid candy in a single container packed in a transparent 1 quartz bag.
